Hi Klara! We are happy to have you here at Middlecon today. So, Middlecon and CROZ are expanding into the mainframe area.
Why are we expanding to the mainframe area? What do you see are the customers’ needs?
Since 2018, we have successfully collaborated on several projects in various areas such as data, AI, and cloud migrations, creating an ideal blend of skills and expertise, we recognized the opportunity to assist customers in the Nordic market with mainframe skills as well. More and more we see that clients are facing skill shortages, high operational costs, modernization challenges, and security concerns. We tackle these issues effectively by offering mainframe services that provide our clients with operational efficiency, reduced downtime, and ensure data integrity and security, which are crucial in today’s landscape.
How can customers reduce cost and enhance security with mainframe?
Since reducing costs and enhancing security are critical priorities from the client’s perspective, it’s really important to approach them strategically. There are a couple of ways to achieve cost reduction and better security. When we talk about cost reduction, tool replacement is one option. Over the years, both technology and pricing policies have evolved. This means customers often need to make tough decisions about replacing existing tools with more cost-effective alternatives. Another approach is modernizing legacy applications to improve efficiency, which can greatly reduce maintenance costs. Additionally, clients can reduce costs by virtualizing mainframe workloads, leveraging Linux on the mainframe, and implementing automation wherever possible.
When addressing mainframe security, implementing IBM z/Security solutions and integrating with hybrid cloud environments ensures strong protection. Enhanced data security via tools like Data Gate for z/OS and WatsonX.Data supports advanced data management and compliance with GDPR and NIS2. Integrating AI capabilities on Z enhances threat detection and response, fortifying overall security.
